The 1934–35 season was Stoke's 42nd season of league football and the 21st in the First Division.
Overview
Stoke started the season with a 4–1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday followed up by an 8–1 win over Leeds United with Stanley Matthews scoring 4 goals. After his performance Matthews won his first England cap while another local star emerged from the youth team, Freddie Steele. Stoke kept their form up until October when they were at the top of the First Division however a number disappointing results meant that Stoke finished in 10th place.
